Blue Cat Woodcut

Hey everybody, good morning. I’ve been doing a lot of printmaking this week, and I just finished a woodcut that is based on somebody near and dear to me, my little cat, Rover.

Usually he’s just laying around in the garden, but for this image I wanted to capture him living his best life, running and jumping and having a good old time. I decided to go for a blue with white paper, And that was inspired by the porcelain pottery that I’ve been making lately. Porcelain is traditionally blue and white, so I wanted to reference that a little bit with the color choices.
