I recently upgraded my cellphone. As a promotion, they gave me a VR headset. The experience was a lot better than I imagined it would be. It inspired me to use my 3D modeling skills to create a virtual gallery to showcase some of my artwork.
This is an experimental piece…just an example, but I can already tell that it is interesting to me for a few reasons:
The sensation is similar to seeing a work of art in person.
Being a ‘virtual’ space, I can showcase my real work beside digital in a way that isn’t possible in reality.
I have a lot of friends who can’t visit my studio or gallery in real life, this gives them a chance to see the work…almost in person.
So I hope you all are as excited as me about this. And if you don’t have a headset, you can see me in reality this Saturday at the Duveneck art show in Covington, KY. See you there!
