Ann Legris' home and studio
The brainchild of artist, Dianne Shouse, Plein Air Wednesdays have been a
tradition for Ohio River Valley Artists for two years.

Every other wednesday, a group of local artists meet at a designated location
where they all paint en plein air. Our group met at renown potter, Ann Legris' farm and studio. Although
hot and muggy day, the farm was beautifully sculpted with blooming flowers and blueberries. Her home is a restored
log cabin.
We also enjoyed a
real treat, an opportunity to visit Ann's studio and showroom. Although Ann's experience as a potter covers the
spectrum, ranging from functional work, sculptures, and antique restoration, she is probably best known for her
pit fired pottery. Her forms are very simple and sophisticated...perfect in terms of pottery. Her firing technique
uses leaves and grasses which leave their silhouette on the pottery.
