Plein Air In Bay City

After the show, Samuel and I decided to spend a day somewhere with nice scenery and paint plein air. Bay City looked good on the map, so we drove there and scoped the area for sceneries.

With no detailed map or game plan, we drove around in circles for a while unitl stopping at a fruit stand in the country, where we bought some fresh cherries and vegetables. We told the lady what we were looking for...sceneries close to the water where there might be park benches and restaurants. She told us that "Hooters" was the place to go, and gave us detailed turn by turn directions.

Hooters was located by a marina in a park on the bay overlooking Bay City. It was a picture perfect view. After painting in the sun for a few hours, Sam and I had an early dinner, and parted ways. He needed to get back to Cincinnati, and I was anxious to start my journey on the bicycle.

After about an hour, I realized that I had left my tent in Samuel's van. I called him in a panic, and he turned around to bring my tent.
